Winter Workshops 2016

Two separate 2016 winter workshops were conducted under the leadership of Rev. Mary Bell-Plouffe and Rev. Scott Schellenberger.
Rev. Mary Bell-Plouffe’s seven-week, 1.5 hr. course was based on “The Book of Creation, An Introduction to Celtic Spirituality” by J. Philip Newell ($16). Twenty registrants from St. John’s and St. Barnabas’ enjoyed this immensely informative and lively workshop, held at St. Barnabas’ on Thursday mornings. The fellowship and workshop were enthusiastically embraced and, as requested, a follow-up event is scheduled for April/May 2016 (information and dates will be posted). This workshop will be based on the book “Listening for the Heartbeat of God” by J. Philip Newell. The books will be ordered by Rev. Mary. The workshop will again be held on Thursday mornings beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Barnabas’

Rev. Scott Schellenberger conducted three workshops, each eight sessions long, guided by the book “Holy Spirit: Creative Power in Our Lives” by Lois Malcolm. Each Tuesday, two workshops, morning and evening, were held at Christ Lutheran Church. The 10-12 participants in each workshop were from St. John’s, All Saints’, St. Barnabas’, and Christ Lutheran. The third workshop was held each Wednesday morning at St. Luke’s with 8-10 participants from that church. All workshops were well attended with lively discussions. There was great sharing, learning, fun, and fellowship.
Responding to a request from these participants, Rev. Scott will lead a workshop in April/May 2016 on Women in the Bible. Details of dates, times, place, and resource materials will follow.
